HOW THE DATABASE
WORKS
As soon as you
register your Antique or heirloom, you will be sent a
quantity of Microdots with a unique number embedded in
the dots, along with detailed instructions on how and
where to attach them. The process is quite simple and
straightforward.
Along with the microdots
you will receive a certificate of registration
confirming the unique number.
Your Name, Address and
Phone No. are held in the register along with a
reference, but NOT details of your antique, therefore
your anonymity is maintained.
Your reference No. and
unique microdot No. are held separately, again to protect
your anonymity.
The UK police have the
necessary equipment to identify microdots and inform us
when a registered item is found. The register will in
turn put you the owner. in direct contact with the
Police authority concerned to effect the safe return of
your antique.
Quite simply, if an item
is lost or stolen in Lancaster and found in London,
through the National Antiques Register, it will be
reunited with its owner.
